The Happiness Crisis A 2013 survey by Gallup of 230,000 full-time and part-time workers in 142 countries showed that only one in eight employees consider themselves happy. As science confirms that  happiness drives productivity, performance and profit, it is apparent that we are in the middle of a serious happiness crisis. Economists indicate that many companies lose half their profits to stress, depression and unhappiness. Breakthroughs in brain research and positive psychology have provided a new science that we can apply to dramatically reduce this unhappiness. As a planet we have a moral obligation to stop squandering human resources by allowing unhappiness to continue, and as humans we have a moral obligation to reduce the unnecessary hardship created by work related unhappiness. Every person has a right to happiness, and the new science of happiness can be simply and economically applied to build happiness in the workplace. This is our goal. Proven Results The results shown on this page are from a USAID funded six month study to measure the efficacy of the InHappiness program. These results are consistent with others achieved at more than 100 organizations and were measured before program commencement, then 2 weeks, 2 months, 4 months, and 6 months later. An 18-month follow up confirmed that results had been maintained. The program incorporates applied positive psychology elements including mindfulness and behavior change training, and also our proprietary holistic Aerobic LaughterTM system. Program participants received two days of intensive training, then practised the program in groups for about an hour a week. Assessment of program efficacy was conducted using psychometric  measures, organizational performance measures, and videotaped interviews with each participant and with management groups. We have been invited to present results of our program at many scientific conferences and have published them in book form. This non-profit open university will make our low-cost program available to individuals and organizations worldwide.

Welcome Since 2006 InHappiness Foundation has delivered happiness programs to the staff of hundreds of organizations while carefully measuring the impact on both individuals and the organization. Our focus was on healing members of staff, most of whom suffered from very high stress, depression, and burnout. As individual stress reduced and participants countered depression and burnout, their health and happiness improved dramatically, and so did their performance. In some cases productivity increased by more than 50% while absenteeism reduced by a similar figure. Organizational Transformation Managers reported dramatic improvements in o Workplace happiness and morale o Inter-staff communication and cooperation o Staff-management communication and cooperation o Staff engagement and commitment o Customer relationships and engagement o Teams working together to common purpose with staff conflict and bullying all but disappearing o Voluntary sharing of knowledge and experience o Innovation, creativity, and problem solving o Emotional intelligence, o Self regard, positivity, and optimism o Stress management and stress tolerance Few programs can scientifically demonstrate such dramatic and consistent improvement in organizational performance. School of Business Happiness The School of Business Happiness will officially open in September 2014 to offer education and business programs that empower organizations to achieve similarly dramatic improvements in performance. Pre-launch courses and programs will be available from April 2014. Some will be delivered online, while others will be delivered through a global network of licensees including individuals, companies and educational establishments, or in-house by organizations licensing for self-delivery.
